Indentured Servitude

Hello Kiddies,
As we go about our daily lives do any of us take pause and really think about the conditions in which we live under?   We wake up, prep for work, work, go home and relax "generally that's the daily routine, no"?   Well this kind of reminds me of the days of old.   What do I mean by this?  Well not so long ago people entered into contracts with the wealthy to perform duties in exchange for transport, housing etc...   In exchange for this they worked, day in and day out until the debt was paid in full.
How is this akin to life in modern society?    Well upon being hired to a position you have guidelines you have to follow, very little if any say so as to your working conditions or upward mobility.   Don't think that just because you work hard you'll make it to the top.   That is actually a rarity, especially in this day in age.   Now there are those few who do attain upward mobility and even fewer self made zillionaires but buy in large most of us are stuck in the middle.  In exchange for our working we are paid, servants were not but they had all their basic needs met.   Isn't that the same as your paycheck?
Once upon a time a single income could sustain the family, these days nearly the entire family has to work just to make ends meet, starting to sound a bit more like servitude, no?   Thanks to Globalization, monetary manipulation and sheer greed, wages are actually decreasing as time moves forward.   America is truly moving closer and closer to a Caste system of social order, this deeply saddens me as it's not the America I remember during my college years or perhaps I was just naive.
I believe that slowly, with the erosion of unions and the degradation nay decimation of the middle class we are slowly sinking into an abyss that it will be difficult to reverse without real harm to our country as a whole.  If you look at a bell curve of wages overtime, just go back to the 1960's you will see that the curve in the center "adjusted for inflation" which represented the vast majority of us "middle class" is narrowing.  There are more Uber wealthy and working poor now than in recent history.   Something is gonna break, this road we are going down cannot be sustained or this great experiment known as "America" we have all been participating in is going to collapse in on itself, wait and see.  Life as we know it now is unsustainable: finite resources, deteriorating quality of life, fiscal irresponsibility and unpredictable disasters natural or otherwise will be our undoing.   These are the fact's write it off as BS if you want and pray to the technology Gods if you will but the only thing that's really going to save us is coming together as a nation and stop fucking each other out of equity for massive personal gains!

Perception Vs. Reality

Hello Kiddies,
We think the world perceives the us as the Great OZ.  Factually I hope they saw The Wizard of OZ, if so they know that we are actually the tiny man behind the curtain pulling levers and pushing buttons.
Once upon a time, as from Reagan through Clinton we were in fact the Great and Wonderful OZ.  We had the world by the balls, we could do no wrong or if we did we could justify it to the rest of the world.   Well, look at us now, 2 unfunded wars, nearly bankrupting the planet and greedy beyound all reason.   What happened to us in the span of several decades?   Leadership or more to the point the lack thereof.   President Alfred E. Newman and his sidekick Old man Potter is responsible for a great deal of this, but not all of it.  Do Republicans really believe that laissez-faire capitalism is actually a viable economic system?
The only way I buy into this argument is that they were on the inside "ie. part of the malfeasance" when the economy nearly collapsed.   Why else would anyone continue to ague for lowering taxes when we know Voodoo "or trickle down" economics DO NOT WORK.   It was a nice experiment but it has FAILED MISERABLY.   I am all for fiscal responsibility but what in the hell are we doing?   It actually began several years back with minor deregulation of the banks, slowly they kept chipping away at laws that have been in place since the Great Depression.   Guess what we got with this ...that's right with globalization we nearly bankrupted half the planet.
So did we learn any lessons from this, why would we, how many people went to jail?    How many millions of Americans got FUCKED?
Perception, America is still the land of opportunity, many people got insanely wealthy when the crash hit.   Reality, many States, Individuals, Municipalities invested in these sure fire get rich schemes and now all of the sudden, it's the working class "the middleclass" who is paying for it.  You really think union busting and putting all the fault on state & municipal workers and the poor is the answer?
For the first time in the history of S&P it has been hinted that they "may"  in the future downgrade the USA's AAA credit rating.   Anyone remember all the past Empires, Rome for example?
Once more in the words of Bill Maher " WAKE UP AMERICA"!

Further expansion on procrastination

Hi Kiddies,
You ever wonder why I start off with hello kiddies?  Well it's quite simple, someone once wrote "we are who we were in kindergarten", I'm a firm believer in this, that being said let's move on.
I think that it is in our nature to half do things , cut corners if you will, if we think we can get away with it.   If you don't believe this just watch the National or Local news sometime and it will bare out what I'm conveying to you.   We have been warned against building our homes on sand, yet every hurricane season we see what happens to coastlines.   The views are truly mesmerizing but not at the expense of having to rebuild every year.
Now if you knew even a little about Nuclear power, common sense dictates that you would want it near H2O and even more importantly on the most stable ground possible, in light of recent events I don't think I need to expound beyound that.   The entire planet can no longer afford to play kick the can any longer, we are at worldwide peak oil or very near to it and yet we tailor our driving habits based on the cost of fuel.   Most of you are too young to remember the 1970's oil embargo that OPEC imposed on the US, did we not learn anything?  The US still has no comprehensive energy policy!
Look I know we live in the land of the Free and Home of the Brave but some sacrifices need to be made for us and YOUR children to continue to enjoy a decent quality standard of life.  What ever happened to taking one for the team?   It's been discovered that we have Vast expanses of Natural gas reserves in deep underground shale basins and the most economical way to get the gas out is by a means called Hydraulic Fracturing, or fracking for short.   I learned about this initially from a documentary called "Gasland*" and more in this months Discover magazine*.
Don't get me wrong I'm all for using our resources before buying them abroad but fracking is doing extreme damage to water tables underground and turning pristine lands into future superfund sites.   Well according to this months Discovery Magazine there is a means of fracking that is MUCH less toxic than the current method, which is not only poisoning ground water and polluting the surface but is also making people violently ill.   HERE IS THE REAL RUB, THE EPA CANNOT EVEN ENFORCE IT'S CLEAN ENVIRONMENTAL ACTS BECAUSE WHEN THE LAW TO ALLOW THIS PRACTICE WAS WRITTEN "THANKS DICK C." THE COMPANIES THAT PRACTICE THIS ARE EXEMPT FROM EPA INSPECTIONS AND INVESTIGATIONS, IS THAT A KICK IN THE BALLS OR WHAT".   In Central Arkansas they have actually been experiencing earthquakes for the first time in "ever" after fracking began there, some above 4.0.  Fact:  The New Madrid, Missouri earthquake of 1812 might have been the biggest ever recorded in the US*.  That is smack dab in the MIDDLE of the US.
We as a nation have been living to excess for so long that we don't know how to economize until there is a threat literally inches from our face.   The point to all this is simple: live within your means and raise taxes on the Uberwealthy "it is after all our money that they got rich on, people seem to forget that".   Have your paychecks risen 800% over the last 15-30 years?  Of course not, unless you had a brilliant Idea, or you work in a sector of our economy that rewards GREED over human trust & plain decency.  I plead with you again don't let our great country fall into despair, if you have an idea on how to fix this mess please write your Congressional Representative or better still, the people of the United States should fund our own Lobby to promote the general welfare "this line is in the preamble to The US Constitution", which currently isn't happening.

Medication...Cure all or silent KILLER?

Hello Kiddies,
Yes I'm back once again to feed you information that you won't find the least bit important but it eases my mind to let you know of the dangers out there non-the-less.   Today's subject is actually water.   Yes fresh from the tap drinking water.
There are Reservoir's, Fresh rivers, Lakes and Aquifers.   Guess what, the water you are drinking has probably been processed several times since it came from the original source.   Fresh drinking water is becoming more and more difficult to come by.   By processed I mean it's been through a sewage treatment plant or 2 before it reaches you.   Sounds a bit icky don't you think.   But wait it get's ickier.  You know all those pills you take, the injections, not to mention God knows what they are feeding our livestock, guess where all that stuff eventually goes.   Down the sink or toilet, then to a processing plant and it's supposed to be as good as new for the next community.   One small problem is that the filters in our plants "for the most part" were not designed to cleanse the water of medications.
So what does it mean, well odds are you are taking penicillin in one form or another, not to mention insulin, Vicodin and God only knows what else just by taking an innocent drink of water.  Oh yea, most bottled water comes from taps, thought I'd put that in for you snobs who think you're beating the system by polluting the landfills with those dumb ass empty PLASTIC bottle water containers.
So the next time you are feeling ill, don't run out to the Doctor, have you water examined by a lab for pharmaceuticals, you may be surprised what the report indicates.  You could be on estrogen and not even know it.

Tax time...

Hello Kiddies,
Today, well recently it came to my attention that with so many distractions during our everyday lives perhaps my blogs have been too long to hold the readers attention.  I will attempt to be as concise as possible in the future.   The US government won't be happy until we are all millionaires, all Lawyers, Doctors and other highly paid professionals.  The tax system is geared towards them and corporations.   Please tell me you have not fallen for that I can \ will be a millionaire one day cause odds are it ain't gonna happen.   YOUR elected officials are bought and paid for before you vote.  They spend millions and now a BILLION on these campaigns, but you never hear about the losers filing for bankruptcy, why is that I wonder?   Anyone single making less than 70,000K a year or couple making less than 125,000K should all be with me on this ESPECIALLY SINGLE RENTERS.  Why is it we get fucked every year, I choose not to bring a little simian into the world which is overpopulated and I get punished.  Workers of the US must Unite before we go the way of the Dinosaur.
